MANILA Vice Mayor Yul Servo led the regular flagraising ceremony in Manila City Hall on Monday, where he thanked all those who have supported her and Mayor Honey Lacuna for the past three years and with a call for the city officials and employees to continue serving with a smile.
Servo expressed gratitude to Manilans for having given him the opportunity to serve as their Vice Mayor for three years and the chance to lead the Manila City Council as well.
He prided his stewardship with the establishment of the Manila City Council website, where all of the city ordinances numbering at least 9,000 in all may be found.
According to Servo, the Council’s Code of General References now makes it a lot easier for anyone using local laws, particularly barangay officials, policemen and even judges and prosecutors, to search for the particular law they need.
The Vice Mayor credited his staff for having worked with him on the said accomplishment.
Meanwhile, Servo called on employees to always put a smile on their faces when dealing with residents who go to their respective offices for help, as he likened public servants, himself included, to doctors who provide instant relief just by treating the public nicely.
“‘Wag sana mawala sa atin ang kusang pagtulong dahil di naman sila pupunta sa atin kung hindi nila kailangan ng tulong. Ngitian agad natin sila para mapawi ang lungkot,” Servo added.
