FORMER Senator Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos kept a firm hold on his position based on the survey by Octa Research for the presidential election in 2022.

In the survey done in Metro Manila from December 9 to 13 Marcos was the second choice of respondents for the next president.

This shows Marcos remains strong in the National Capital Region (NCR) based on his 14% rating, next to Manila Mayor Isko Moreno who got 19%.

Earlier it was also Marcos who emerged the more popular choice for president over Vice President Leni Robredo in the survey conducted by Pulse Asia from November 22 to December 2, 2020.

In the survey with 2,400 respondents Marcos took second place with a score of 14%, next to President Duterte’s daughter Davao City Mayor Sara Dutere-Carpio who had a score of 26%.

Robredo was in sixth place with only 8 percent.

But in Metro Manila Marcos took the lead with 20 percent ahead of Moreno who had 18 percent.

The fight between Marcos and Robredo for vice president continues as the Presidential Electoral Tribunal (PET) has yet to rerlease its official and final decision on the “true winner” of the contested position.

The year 2020 is over but Marcos’ electoral protest against Robrerdo remains in the office of Associate Justice Marvic Leonen.

The filing of certificate of candidacy (COC) for president and vice president starts in October.

It is expected that results of surveys by different pollsters will change in the coming days.
