Mayor Honey Lacuna called on Manila residents to continue masking up when in crowded or enclosed areas.

Lacuna made the appeal while citing information tha certain provinces are already on Alert Level 2 due to the rising cases of COVID recently.

“Patuloy po tayong mag-ingat. Magsuot po tayo ng face mask lalo na sa mga enclosed areas. Mabuti na ‘yung nag-iingat kesa magsisi sa bandang huli,” Lacuna said.

The lady mayor also urged city employees to avail of the free annual checkup being given by the city government.

The city government employees’ clinic (CGEC) is attending to the city employees who she said have been listed and scheduled based on the department, bureau or office where they belong.

The mayor stressed that the health of its employes is paramount to the local government of Manila in the belief that ‘charity begins at home’ and a healthy working population will mean better delivery of basic services to the residents.

Lacuna, a doctor, also reminded the city residents to take precautions against the heat these days.

“Wag nyo ho kalilimutan to hydrate yourselves. Hydrate nang hydrate,” as she cut short her speech at yesterday’s regular flagraising ceremony due to the extreme heat.

In the said event, Lacuna also cited ten Sangguniang Kabataan councils in the city that have come up with meaningful, exemplary programs for the good of their respective barangays.
