Come early and if needed, leave your offices late.

This was the call made by Mayor Honey Lacuna to all city officials and employees, even as she also enjoined them and all other Manilans to take part in the city’s month-long activities lined up leading to the celebration of its 452nd founding anniversary on June 24, dubbed, “Araw ng Maynila.”

Noting that all city workers take their oath or ‘Panunumpa ng Kawani ng Gobyerno’ every first Monday of the month during their flagraising ceremony, she said they, being public servants, vow to give their best in the delivery of basic services needed by the city residents.

As such, Lacuna stressed the importance of punctuality and willingness to work beyond the designated hours if only to finish everything that has to be done, to the satisfaction of those who come to City Hall and all its outside units for help.

Meanwhile, the mayor announced that the lineup of activities for the month leading to June 24, which marks the exact date of the founding of Manila, includes the awarding of local government employes who have rendered long years of dedicated service to the city, honoring Manila residents who have greatly contributed and brought honor to the city, the Miss Manila beauty pageant and a socio-civil parade that will be held in the historic Moriones in Tondo.
