“PLEASE don’t disturb the birds at the Arroceros Forest Park. Don’t catch them for the purpose of taking them home.”
This was the plea made by Manila Mayor Honey Lacuna to all those visiting the said park, stressing there are certain rules that are being imposed while in the said park.
With the heat still on, Mayor Honey Lacuna invited the residents of Manila, and even non-residents, to visit and benefit from the public parks of the city, specially the Arroceros Forest Park but pleaded.
Considered as ‘the last lung’ of Manila, the said park offers a welcome alternative to beat the heat owing to the presence of so many trees that provide shade and cool air.
However, according to Lacuna, the said park imposes certain house rules since there are various kinds of wildlife being nurtured there, for the enjoyment of those who go there.
On this note, she invited the public to join the city government in the tree-planting activities planned as part of the “Araw ng Maynila” celebration marking the city’s founding anniversary.
