The Sultanate of Phangampong a Pilipinas Da’wah Solidarity Inc. announced its support for the reelection bid of Manila Mayor Honey Lacuna. It is the latest of large groups composed of Muslim communities based in Manila to have endorsed the candidacy of Lacuna.

Composed of about 3,000 member-leaders, the said organization praised the leadership of Lacuna and her programs that benefit all the residents and especially commended the lady mayor’s initiatives in providing the best in health care, education and peace and order in the city.

Too, the Sultanate officials cited Lacuna as “a leader whose concern is genuine, not only for the residents across all sectors but moreso for the Muslim communities in Manila.”

Daud also assured Lacuna of their organization’s full support for her advocacies and vision for a more progressive, peaceful and inclusive city.

For her part, Lacuna expressed her profound thanks and gratitude to the organization, saying their endorsement is expected to result in a wider support from the Muslim residents of the city and boost her candidacy even more, as election day draws near.

“Assalamu Alaikum Warahmatullahi Wabarakatuh!

The endorsement followed the same support shown by the United Muslim Community in Manila, also a big group composed of various organization of Manila-based Muslims, who also vowed to campaign for Lacuna as they cited how her administration looked out for them.

The mayor and her ticket mates led by Vice Mayor Yul Servo and third district Congressman Joel Chua, received the support during a jampacked rally held in Quiapo, where most of the Muslim community members are based where the Muslim leaders took turns in stating the reasons for supporting Lacuna and her entire slate that include Councilors Fa Fugoso, Maile Atienza and Atty. Jong Isip as well as candidates for Councilor Jeff Lau and Karen Alibarbar.
