MANILA Mayor Honey Lacuna pledged to support the Manila Police District (MPD) in every way possible, as she also appealed to the supporters of the city government to continue helping by also aiding the police force in its needs.
Meanwhile, Lacuna announced that the allowance allotment of the MPD police personnel from the city government had been released over the weekend.
According to her, city administrator Bernie Ang has already taken care of the necessary documents and signed the accompanying papers in order to facilitate the expeditious release of the monthly allowance of the police numbering nearly 5,000 in all.
The lady mayor has vowed to tap all that have helped the local government ever since, saying Manila is lucky to have many supporters who have always backed the city in its endeavors.
“Nakatutok po tayo sa regular stakeholders at nakikipag-usap. Sabi nga ni PBBM, dapat may public and private partnership dahil makakatulong sa lahat ng adhikain,” she said.
“Sana ay patuloy kayong sumuporta in terms of mobile cars, SWAT vehicles and the like. Sana ay matulungan nyo pa din kami pati na din ang ating partners sa national,” Lacuna said.
The mayor took the opportunity to thank the MPD for the smooth and orderly flow of the first day of in-person classes in the city of Manila.
She expressed gladness that no untoward incident was reported, attributing the success to the putting up of numerous help desks and deployment of roving patrols by the MPD.
Lacuna also cited the MPD personnel for being among the unsung heroes, along with medical frontliners and the overseas Filipino workers, whom she all paid tribute to during the observance of the National Heroes ‘Day on Monday.
