Manila Mayor Honey Lacuna thanked President Ferdinand ‘Bongbong’ Marcos, Jr. for having announced the inclusion of all job order (JO) and contract of service (CoS) personnel in the gratuity pay this year.
During her brief message at the regular flagraising ceremony held at the Manila City Hall on Monday morning, Lacuna also thanked all the city officials and employees for another year of dedicated, honest and genuine service to the city and the people of Manila.
“Maraming maraming salamat sa isa naman pong taon ng inyong tapat at totoong paglliingkod,” the mayor said.
She added: “Gaya ng ating laging sinasabi, dito sa lungsod ng Maynila, mahalaga ang lahat. Ang Pasko ay para sa lahat kaya ako’y natutuwa nang ianunsiyo ng ating Pangulong Bongbong Marcos na kasama na rin ang ating mga job order at contractual services sa makakatanggap ng gratuity pay ngayong taon. Masaya po ako para sa inyo,” she said.
Lacuna expressed gratitude to President Marcos for the announcement, saying: “Ang Pasko ay para sa lahat walang pinipili lahat kasama dahil lahat mahalaga ‘yan ang Sama-Sayang Pasko dito sa lungsod ng Maynila.”
President Marcos, Jr. has approved an increase in gratuity pay for contractual and JO workers in the government, raising the amount up to P7,000. The increase will take effect not earlier than December15, 2024.
According to the Administrative Order 28 signed by Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin, President Marcos said JOs and COS employees who have rendered a total or aggregate of at least four months of actual satisfactory service performance as of December 15,2024 are entitled to the gratuity pay from P5,000 to P7,000.
“Granting a yearend gratuity pay to COS and JO workers is a well-deserved recognition of their hard work and valuable participation in the implementation of various PAPs of the government, and their pivotal role in the delivery of government services amidst the present socio-economic challenges,” President Marcos had said.
