Lacuna said that from January 1, 2023 up to present, the running total of jobs given has already reached 4,592 and the beneficiaries include senior citizens and persons with disability (PWDs). Of the number, at total of 1,031 were hired on the spot,; 2,267 placement report of employers; 1,029 Joyride Philippines and 180 Borzo Philippines.
The PESO office, she said, also came up with a career guidance report for a total of 4,726 students.
“Ito ay para i-guide kayo (students) sa tamang landas or career path. Kailangan din nating may tumutulong sa atin sa pipiliin natin although not to the point na didiktahan tayo sa gusto natin sa buhay,” the mayor said.
Lacuna also announced that a Mega Job Fair will be held by the city on March 24, 2023 at the Sarmiento Covered Court on Teresa Street in Sta. Mesa, Manila, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Applicants are reminded to wear casual attire, bring at least 10 copies of resume and own ballpen.
“Be there 30 mins before job interview so relaxed na kayo. Dapat na may laman ang tiyan para hindi kayo nagugutom at magdala ng ballpen para di na kayo nanghihiram,” Lacuna said.
Earlier, on February 24, Bermejo reported that a similar mega job fair was held by the city where a total of 205 were hired on the spot and 473 applicants were catered.
Meanwhile, Lacuna announced that the special program for employment of students (SPES) is now hiring and those interested may visit SPES or its Facebook account to know the requirements and steps to be taken to be included in the said program.
The program, she said, is open to high school graduates, college undergraduates, college graduates and technical and vocational graduates.
There will also be special recruitment activities at the PESO annex office at the Park ‘n Ride Building in Lawton, Ermita Mondays to Fridays, from 9 a.m.to 2 p.m.
