Manila Mayor Honey Lacuna on Monday (June 16) led the launch of the “Diskwento Caravan: Balis Eskwela Edition,” in cooperation with the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) and the Department of Education (DepEd) at the inner court of the Manila City Hall.
Said caravan, she said, aims at helping residents, city employees and even teachers and school personnel to buy school supplies and other products at much cheaper prices.
Lacuna thus invites the public, especially Manilans, to take advantage of the the said caravan, where many school products are being offered at low prices.
The mayor said that the caravan is being carried out in partnership with the national government and offers school supplies such as notebooks, writing materials, bags, and uniforms at discounted prices under Department Order (DO) No. 12, series of 2025. Gracing the occasion were DTI Secretary Cristina Aldeguer-Roque and DepEd representatives, among others.
Lacuna thanked those responsible for the back-to-school version of the caravan project which they launched at the Manila City Hall’s inner court as this would benefit the residents in terms of much-needed savings in time for the school opening.
Said caravan is from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. until Tuesday.
