MANILA Mayor Honey Lacuna is inviting kind-hearted individuals to help the city government in its effort to put braces on children who need them.

Lacuna said that recently, a batch of 14 students from various public schools have been given free braces through the efforts of the Manila Health Department headed by its Director, Dr. Arnold ‘Poks’ Pangan.

Meanwhile, the mayor said that the provision of free basic medical services for the city’s needy residents continues as basic health routine programs were implemented in all of the city’s 44 health centers spread all throughout the six districts of Manila.

Among the free routine programs and services given to the residents are the deworming of children, family planning, dental and regular check-ups, ECG, pap smear and laboratory which were made available in the health centers.

According to Pangan, all of the 44 health centers in the city continue to be open for those in need of basic health services.

He said that the health centers are manned by MHD personnel from Monday to Friday or during weekdays, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
