AN ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.

In line with this belief, Mayor Honey Lacuna called on all regular employees of the Manila City Hall to avail of the free annual medical checkup being offered by the city government.

Before doing so, Lacuna reminded all the said employees that pursuant to the implementation of the Universal Health Care Law, PhilHealth will be conducting an onsite updating on April 12, 19 and 26, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.

“Ito po ay gaganapin sa FreedomHall of the Manila City Hall kaya hinihikayat ko lahat ng regular employees na tumungo sa CGEC (city government employes’ clinic), magpa-profile na kayo sa PhilHealth nang sa gayon, masimulan na po ang annual physical exam ng bawat empleyado,” she said.

Lacuna said it is disheartening that at times, she hears of certain employees suffering from stroke or other serious illnesses when they could avail of free checkup at the city’s clinic located at the ground floor of City Hall.

The lady mayor urged city employees to already start filling out the required forms so they can be submitted before going to the CGEC.
