Mayor Honey Lacuna and Vice Mayor Yul Servo led the city of Manila in thanking and paying tribute to 382 employees who have spent decades of their prime to the service of their local government and fellow Manilans.
“Ang inyong di-matatawarang serbisyo, dedikasyon, at integridad sa loob ng maraming taon ay tunay na inspirasyon hindi lamang sa inyong mga kasamahan kundi sa buong sambayanan ng Maynila,” Lacuna said as she feted the employees who received their City Service Loyalty Awards as part of the activities leading up to the celebration of the city’s 454th “Araw ng Maynila” on June 24.
The mayor added: “Maraming salamat sa inyong walang sawang pagtugon sa pangangailangan ng ating lungsod. Ang inyong tagumpay ay tagumpay rin ng ating buong pamahalaan at mamamayan. Muli, maligayang pagbati at ipagpatuloy ninyo ang isang tapat at totoo na paglilingkod.”
The recipients of the said awards were honored for their loyalty, having rendered service for 25 years or more, during a simple ceremony held at the Metropolitan Theater on Friday, June 20, 2025.
It was learned that the awardees’ categories were for those who have rendered 25, 30, 35, 40 and 45 years of service in the city government, with City Personnel Officer Miguelita Alonzo joining Lacuna and Servo in the awarding ceremony.
The top awardee was Antonio Punsalan from the Manila Traffic and Parking Bureau, who has served Manila for a total of 45 years.
Aside from placques, the loyal employees also received cash gifts.
Lacuna cited the employees for their many years of dedicated service to the city of Manila and its residents, saying their contribution and hard work has led to where Manila is today.
