“WE will definitely win… We will not engage in mudslinging kasi hindi naman po kami pinalaki ng magulang namin na manira po ng ibang tao.”
Thus declared Manila Mayor Honey Lacuna as she and Vice Mayor Yul Servo filed their certificates of candidacy (COCs) together at the SM Cinema 12 in SM Manila, where they also both assured that their tandem will continue serving under the principle of good and honest governance that is centered on the delivery of more basic services for the most needy sectors, especially the senior citizens.
After filing their COCs, Lacuna and Servo accompanied their candidates for Councilor in the different districts of Manila who chose the same date and time to also file their CoCs, among them Bong Marzan, brother of former city administrator Jay Marzan, who will run for fourth district Councilor.
Lacuna said she and Servo hope to continue the centerpiece program of their administration, the social amelioration program or SAP which provides monthly financial assistance to senior citizens, solo parents, persons and minors with disability and university students from the two city-run colleges.

Before filing, Lacuna and Yul joined the fiesta-atmosphere at the Kartilya ng Katipunan beside the Manila City Hall where throngs of supporters gathered to express their all-out support for the tandem, some as early as 6 a.m.
It was learned that the Honey-Yul supporters, all clad in blue, were already at the venue as early as five hours ahead of the duo’s scheduled filing of the COCs.
From there, Lacuna and Servo walked toward the site for the filing of their COCs, accompanied by their slate members and even by the six Congressional candidates namely, come backing first district Congressman Manny Lopez and incumbents Rolan Valeriano (2nd district), Joel Chua (3rd district), Edward Maceda (4th district), Irwin Tieng (5th district) and Benny Abante (6th district). All of them are also seeking reelection except for Maceda, whose wife Dr. Giselle will be taking his place since he has already reached the three-term limit.
The Lacuna-Servo tandem also has the support of the majority of the members of the Manila City Council.
All of them are running under the ruling local party in Manila, the Asenso Manileño, which made a clean sweep of all local elective posts during dthe 2022 elections.
