ONCE a doctor, always a doctor.
Manila Mayor Honey Lacuna got off her vehicle when, on the way to the office, she responded to an accident situation near SM Manila, fronting the Manila City Hall, involving a 67-year-old tricycle driver and his passenger.
Lacuna administered first aid medical treatment along with the members of the Medical Response Team from the Manila Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office and the Manila Health Department, to both the driver and passenger, after they met an accident along Natividad Lopez Street.
It was learned that Lacuna had just come from a speaking engagement when she saw the said driver sprawled on the ground.
MDRRMO head Arnel Angeles said that the tricycle got involved in a head-on collision with a Sedan.
The driver complained of pains in the upper left portion of his body and left leg after his tricycle landed on top of him as a result of the collision’s impact.
On the other hand, the 50-year-old female passenger sustained wounds in the left arm.
They were both given first treatment before being carried into the MDRRMO ambulance which took them to the nearest hospital for further check and treatment.
Lacuna lauded and thanked the MDRRMO and MHD for their quick response and called on the public, particularly motorists, to exercise extra caution on the road in order to avoid accidents.
For emergency cases, the residents may call 0932-662-2322 or 0950-700-3710.
