LIAN, Batangas — Police on October 24, 2020 reported that the mayor of this town died of COVID in the hospital at around 10:30 p.m.
Lian Municipal Police Station chief Major Apolinario Palomeno said Isagani I. Bolompo earlier tested positive for COVID-19.
The mayor was brought to the Western Medical Center in Balayan to undergo treatment. He was transferred by police and his security personnel to the Lung Center of the Philippines in Quezon City where he was declared on arrival.
Lian is a 3rd class municipality in the Batangas and has a population of 52,660.
