LA SALLE guard Aljun Melecio is expected to play his fifth and final year in the UAAP men’s basketball tournament.
“Baka tapusin ko last playing year ko,” said Melecio through his management agency HypeSportsPH.
Yesterday morning, Melecio posted on his Twitter account about his commitment to suit up for the Green Archers for one final time before removing it a few hours later that led speculations that the 5-foot-7 guard might turn pro.
“One more year,” Melecio said on his now-deleted post with an archer emoji.
With the scrapping of UAAP Season 83, collegiate players eligible for one more year have the option to join in the PBA Rookie Draft slated in March.
Melecio, who was the top rookie in 2016 when La Salle won its last UAAP crown, averaged 10.4 points, 3.8 assists and 3.2 rebounds in Season 82.
Mark Nonoy, who left University of Santo Tomas amid the Sorsogon bubble controversy last September, and Evan Nelle, a transferee from San Beda, are tipped to fill the void vacated by Melecio.Publication Source : People's Tonight
