THE Manila International Airport Authority (MIAA) held an outreach program at the Isla Puting Bato in Tondo, Manila instead of a Christmas party, which general manager Eric Jose Ines said they will be foregoing pursuant to a call made by President Ferdinand Marcos, Jr. for government agencies to help those in need instead of spending on parties.
Ines stressed the importance of unity and compassion specially during the Christmas season, amid the challenges being faced by many Filipino families.
He noted the number of families that continue to suffer due to the series of calamities that hit the country due to typhoons and fire incidents.
Through its ‘Lingap Kapwa Task Force’, he said the MIAA donated 50 boxes containing various kinds of items for children and adults alike such as basic necessities, clothes and sheets.
Thousands of families lost their homes in a recent fire that hit Isla Puting Bato.
