MMDA chairman’s son tests positive for COVID-19

MANDALUYONG City Councilor Benjamin “Benjie” Abalos III, son of Mayor Menchie Abalos, and Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) Chairman Benhur Abalos, has tested positive for COVID-19.

The announcement was made on Monday on a Facebook page of the city councilor.

Ikinalulungkot ko pong sabihin na ako po ay nagpositibo sa COVID-19. Akala ko noong una masakit lang ang katawan ko, hindi ko ine-expect positive pala ako after kong magpa-test. Please stay home and be safe. Let’s always stay safe,” the councilor posted on Facebook.

On January 25, his grandmother, Corazon Abalos, died after contracting COVID-19.

As of March 29, Mandaluyong City has a total of 908 active cases of COVID-19.
