Mom of nabbed bigtime drug pusher yields P.7M shabu

LUCENA CITY — Barely a week after her son was arrested for pushing illegal drugs, a 61 year-old-widow and her sister yesterday fell into the hands of police operatives during a drug bust in Purok Santol 2, Bgy. Mayao Crossing, this city.

City police chief Lt. Col. Romulo Albacea identified the arrested suspects as Gloria de Chavez alias Mommy, and her sister Zenaida de Chavez, alias Zeny, 60, both residing in the said village.

Albacea, in his report to Quezon police director Col. Ericson Dilag, said both suspects are included in the Street Level Individual (SLI) drug list of the Quezon Police Provincial Office and have previous drug cases.

He added that the police operation yielded 28 plastic sachets containing 38 grams of suspected shabu with a street value of P775, 200 and a marked P500 bill.

Gloria’s son Mark Acabado alias Dagie, 38, and his live- in partner Rosselle Flores, 30, both of said village, were caught red- handed with shabu in a buy bust in the same village on January 6.

The illegal drugs have an street value of P536,520.

Albacea said both suspects are included in the drugs watchlist of the city police station.

Albacea said the bulk of shabu that they seized from Gloria and her sister belong to his son, Mark.
