Motorbike rams post, back rider killed

A 28-YEAR-OLD motorcycle back rider died while the driver was seriously injured when their vehicle crashed into a concrete post Thursday evening in Caloocan city.

Caloocan police chief P/Col. Samuel Mina said Rogelio Hermogenes Purugganan III, dental technician and resident of 68-C Karuhatan Road, Valenzuela City, succumbed to severe head and body injuries while being rushed to the Caloocan City Medical Center while the driver of the 400 cc CF Moto motorcycle identified as Alemer Ponce, seafarer of 6106 Santos Compound Gen. T. De Leon, Valenzuela city is still under observation at the same hospital.

Investigation conducted by Caloocan police traffic investigator P/Cpl. Rhou Anthony Gudgad showed the victims were travelling westbound on Tullahan Road, Bgy. 162 when Ponce lost control of the motorcycle at around 10:45 p.m. and rammes a concrete post after passing at the corner of Mercury Street.

Due to the strong impact, the victims were thrown off the motorcycle a meter away and their bodies hit another concrete post.
