A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) officially launching the ‘Kadiwa ng Pangulo‘ was entered into by the Philippine Postal Corporation (PHLPost) and the Department of Agriculture (DA).
Graced by key officials from both agencies, including Luis Carlos, Postmaster General and CEO of PHLPost and Francisco Tiu Laurel, Jr., Secretary of the Department of Agriculture. Atty. Lori Ann D. Atal, APMG for Administration & Finance of PHLPost, the agreement is aimed at bringing affordable agricultural products closer to the public by establishing community markets in strategic locations. Through this partnership, PHLPost facilitated the logistics and e-commerce distribution, while the Department of Agriculture ensured the supply of fresh produce and essential commodities.
Last year, PHLPost has set-up Kadiwa Pop-up stores in Mariveles, Bataan, Tarlac and Olongapo City, San Fernando City in Pampanga and Central Mail Exchange Center (CMEC) in Pasay City.
“Through this initiative, we are not just distributing agricultural products; we are empowering our farmers and supporting the welfare of our fellow Filipinos by making their lives easier and more sustainable,” Carlos said.
Said event marked a new chapter in promoting accessible and affordable agricultural products to Filipino communities.
