MPD-7 inmate believed to have died of COVID

AN inmate at the Manila Police District (MPD)-Jose Abad Police Station 7 (PS-7) in Tondo, Manila is suspected of having died of COVID-19 after he ran a fever and had breathing difficulty while under detention the other day.

The 59-year-old inmate, whose identity is being withheld, was said to have been hospitalized for three days before he died yesterday after noon.

It was learned that the inmate was arrested on August 19, 2020 inside his home on F. Yuseco Street in Tondo for drug pushing.

At 6:45 p.m. on September 12, he lost consciousness and was found to have fever and breathing difficulty.

The inmate was brought to the Tondo Medical Center where he died three days later.

As of this writing, police said they are still awaiting the result of the swab test on the victim.
