MPD-DPIOU nabs construction worker who raped stepsister for seven years

POLICEMEN from the Manila Police District – District Police Intelligence Operation Unit (MPD-DPIOU) served justice to a 20-year-old woman who had to endure a series of rape incidents from her own stepbrother for the past seven years.

PMaj. Kevin Rey Bautista, head of the DPIOU, said the 40-year-old construction worker was nabbed during an operation conducted by his men the other day at Purok 4B, Brgy Anonas in Angeles, Pampanga.

According to Bautista, the suspect is Top 7 in the Regional Top Ten most wanted persons. Currently, he is detained at the MPD custodial facility prior to his presentation in court.

Bautista said the victim was only 13 years old when the suspect, identified only as Niño, of Barangay 258 in Tondo, Manila, began raping her in 2018.

Upon learning that the victim found courage to finally lodge a complaint, Bautista said the suspect fled to Angeles, Pampanga where he later got arrested near the Nepoville basketball court at 12: 30 a.m. the other day.

Manila Regional Trial Court Presiding Judge Mariesther Vedana of Branch 48, before whose sala the suspect faces rape charges, did not recommend any bail for his provisional liberty.
