THE Manila Police District (MPD) has a new director.

Based on a reshuffle made by Philippine National Police Director, Gen Nicholas Torre III, PBGen Arnold Abad will be the new acting Director of the MPD effective July 14, 2025.

It was learned that pursuant to a general order signed by PMGen. Constantino Chinayog, Director for Personnel and Records Management (DPRM) which was based on Torre’s directive, MPD Director Benigno Guzman was transferred as Deputy Director for Police Security and Protection Group (PSPG).

Reportedly, PBGen. Abad kept the CAMANAVA area generally peaceful during his short stint as Director of the Northern Police District.

PBGen. Jerry Villas Protacio replaced Abad at the NPD.

Abad and Guzman are said to be both members of the PNPA Kaagapay Class of 1996.
