THREE persons were nabbed by Manila Police District (MPD) operatives for faking identification cards (IDs) of persons with disability (PWD) and other public documents during an entrapment operation in Sta. Cruz, Manila on Wednesday night.

They were identified as Marites Esedera, 34; Erdie Macaspac, 49 and Michelle Janaban, 31, all residents of Sta. Cruz, Manila.

A report from the MPD sid that at 5:40 p.m., the operatives from the MPD-DID Tracker team led by PCapt. Joel Aquino and supervised by their chief PLTCol. John Guiagui, raided a house in Barangay 310 on Quezon Boulevard, Sta. Cruz, based on information that PWD IDs are being faked there.

An entrapment operation was made based on the information and they police were able to confiscate various paraphernalia for manufacturing fake IDs including a computer set, a printer, a pack of paper vellum; metal ruler and cutter and several fake PWD IDs and P700.

Guiagui said the fake IDs being manufactured by the suspects are from a number of cities in Metro Manila, including Manila, Quezon City, Pasig and Muntinlupa and even Angat, Bulacan.

It was learned that the suspects’ illegal activity began last year, where they charged P100 for each faked ID if the client directly contacted them and P200 if they went through a ‘fixer’.

The template of the fake IDs were said to come from fixers or customers and the suspects merely copy it.

Aside from the fake PWD IDs, police said the suspects also do fake birth certificates, transcripts of records and certificates of employment.

They are now facing charges for falsification of public documents and manufacturing and possession of instruments of implements for falsification before the Manila Prosecutor’s Office.
