MPD-Station 1 nabs gun-for-hire

Manila Police District (MPD)

Operatives from the Manila Police District-Station 1 arrested a member of a “gun- for- hire ” gang said to be responsible for the two latest shooting incidents which resulted in two deaths in Balut, Tondo, Manila.

Station Commander P/Lt. Col Rosalino Ibay, Jr. said the suspect was identified as Jayjay Martelino, alias ‘Pusod’ while his alleged cohort, identified only as ‘Ivan’ remains at large. Martelino was earlier nabbed in Caloocan City.

It was learned that the suspects’ group is responsible for the viral video of an alleged ‘serial killer’ known as ‘Joel Blandy’ who was identified as someone who will shoot at random.

Blandy was presented to Manila Mayor Honey Lacuna along with Martelino and investigation showed that the group of Martelino made up the video and fake news which they posted on Facebook to get back at ‘Blandy’ who happens to be their enemy.

“Malinaw sa nakuha naming intelligence information that these young boys’ group numbering about 10 persons is trying to make a name for themselves, walang takot pumatay kasi meron silang financier at nagbibigay ng armas at baril sa mga grupo na yan at ginagawang taga- tumba ng bigtime drug pusher na kasalukuyang nakakulong” Ibay said.

Based on information gathered by Ibay, Martelino and his partner Ivan were paid P50,000 for their last job together. They were reportedly paid and even given firearms by a woman employee of a bigtime drug pusher.

“Opo, binabayaran ang grupo namin ng malaking halaga para patayin ang ipag- uutos sa amin ng contact naming nakakulong sa Camp Bagong Diwa sa Bicutan, Taguig,” Martelino told the police.

It was learned that ten more cohorts of Martelino went into hiding after learning that he had been arrested.
