MRT-3, LRT-2 at PNR offer 4-day free rides for veterans – DOTr Sec. Bautista

Department of Transportation - DOTr

Good news to veterans.

Department of Transportation (DOTr) Secretary Jaime Bautista announced that veterans will be given free rides in three railway lines in Metro Manila, to include the Metro Rail Transit Line 3 (MRT-3), Light Rail Transit Line 2 (LRT-2) and Philippine National Railways (PNR), as part of the celebration of the Philippine Veterans Week and Day of Valor.

Bautista said the free rides began April 5 and will be repeated on April 10, 11 and 12.

“Libreng sakay ang ihahandog ng mga rail transit services ng Department of Transportation (DOTr) sa mga beterado bilang pagdiriwang ng Philippine Veterans Week at Araw ng Kagitingan (Day of Valor),” Bautista said.

He added that all that a veteran has to do is present his valid identification card from the Philippine Veterans Affairs Office (PVAO) at every train station in order to avail of the said free rides.

The MRT-3 management said that each veteran is even allowed to extend the free ride to one companion on the said dates.

The MRT-3, LRT-2 and PNR stops operation from Maundy Thursday to Easter Sunday or from April 6 to 9, to give way to maintenance activities
