Murder suspect killed in Batangas gunfight

A MAN charged with murder died after allegedly fighting with joint police forces during the serving of a warrant of arrest the other day in Lian, Batangas.

The slain suspect was identified by Lian Municipal Police Station commander Major Radam Ramos as Cirilo Papio Montes.

According to Ramos, joint operatives of Lian MPS, Calatagan MPS, Provincial Intelligence Unit (PIU) Batangas Provincial Police Office (BPPO), Batangas Provincial Mobile Force Company (BPMFC), and Regional Public Safety Battalion–(RPSB) 4A served a warrant of arrest against the suspect at around 6:10 a.m. in Bgy. Matabungkay, which resulted in an armed confrontation.

Montes was also involved in a shooting incident in Calatagan, Batangas on February 26, 2021, which left two personnel of the Calatagan MPS wounded.

Meanwhile, a Chinese businesswoman was found dead at 5 a.m. on March 1 inside the new market in Bgy. Cuta, Batangas City

The victim suffered several stab wounds in the body and was identified Chen Ling Ling, 34.

Initial investigation showed the lifeless victim was found by his store helper Roldan logronio Yuga.

Yuga said he was arranging goods when he noticed the businesswoman lying in a pool of blood on the floor next to the cash register.

Police said the motive for the killing was robbery based on closed-circuit television (CCTV) footages.
