THE local government of Naic, Cavite through the Municipal Social Welfare and Development and City Social Welfare and Development of Bacoor started distributing financial assistance to all households of the locality affected by Enhanced Community Quarantine, (ECQ), Friday, April 9 2021.

MSWD-Naic and CSWD -Bacoor started distributing aid in Barangays Balsahan and Aniban respectively.

The Department of Budget and Management has allotted P115,822,000 financial assistance for Naic and P529,690,000 for Bacoor City through President Rodrigo Duterte’s initiative for the families affected by the Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ) to stop the spread of COVID-19 in NCR Plus areas (Metro Manila, Cavite, Bulacan, Rizal and Laguna)

According to the DBM, the supplemental amelioration program for those affected by the Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ) in the NCR Plus includes aid of P1,000 per individual and not more than P4,000 for each household.

The said coastal town has more or less 49,00 households based on the last MSWD count here. As a result, it is estimated that the funds received by the LGU here will be short, which increased by more than 20,000 households from 29,000 households in 2015 census.

Naic has become the resettlement site of displaced informal settlers from Manila, Las Piñas City and Bacoor City so it has multiplied over the past five years.

According to Mayor Junio Dualan, the local government has allocated an additional P40 million supplemental budget from local funds to address the potential shortfall in financial aid to be distributed to residents in 15-days given period by Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG).

I call on my fellow LGUs to help me to give all residents the help that is for them,” said Mayor Junio Dualan.

Dualan also mentioned that the distribution schedule is on a First Come First Serve basis. The first to submit the list for proper validation will be the first to receive a payout.

Majority of the localities are scheduled to release financial assistance this incoming week. Aid distribution is ongoing in Naic, Bacoor and Tagaytay City.
