SIX individuals said to be involved in selling government positions using the name of First lady Liza Araneta -Marcos were nabbed by the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) during an entrapment operation the other day at the Manila Hotel in Ermita, Manila.

NBI Director Judge Jaime Santiago identified those nabbed as Diahn Sanchez Dagohoy, Bolkisah Balt Datadacula, Alejandro Barcena Lorino, Jr., Ronald Joseph Catunao, Leomer Abon and Tita Natividad.

They are now facing charges for violation of Article 177 (Usurpation of Authority or Official Functions) of the Revised Penal Code.

Santiago said the operation was based on a complaint lodged by the victims before the NBI- Special Task Force (STF) and Cybercrime Division (CCD).

It was learned that last December 29,2024, Dagohoy contacted the complainant and offered a post at the Bangsamoro (BARRM) Parliament for P8 million.

The complainant, Santiago said, pretended to be interested and after a series of talks, they agreed to give the BARMM position to Dagohoy’s child and relative for P15 million, on the pretext that First Lady Liza Araneta -Marcos will have said positions reserved.

The complainant and suspects, who posed as representatives from the Office of the President (OP), then agreed to meet up at the Manila Hotel for the payment. The purported oath -taking was scheduled on January 3.

Based on the complaint, the NBI laid down an entrapment operation and once the marked money was given, the operatives nabbed the suspects.
