A total of 59,854 individual examination subjects were administered to airmen nationwide, as the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP), through its Airmen Examination Board (AEB), significantly expanded its examination services in 2025.

“By expanding our regional test centers, we ensure that more airmen can receive timely certification while maintaining the highest standards of safety and professionalism, helping future-proof Philippine aviation for generations to come,” said CAAP Director General Retired Lt. Gen. Raul Del Rosario.

Meanwhile, it was learned from CAAP spokesman Eric Apolonio that the examination subjects correspond to the various knowledge areas required for airmen certification.

“From these examinations, 8,767 Knowledge Test Reports (KTRs) were issued to airmen who successfully completed all required examination subjects,” said Apolonio.

So as to further improve access to examination services, he said that CAAP established an AEB Examination Center at CAAP Mactan-Cebu, where examinations were conducted in November 2025. Additional examination centers in Davao City and Clark, Pampanga are also slated to open.

“These initiatives are part of CAAP’s efforts to decongest the Manila examination center and enhance service accessibility for regional examinees, in line with the directives of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. and Transportation Secretary Giovanni Lopez.

With these developments, CAAP reaffirms its commitment to strengthening the country’s aviation workforce and upholding the Philippines’ position as a safe and globally competitive aviation hub,” Apolonio stated.
