NEECO employee hurt in Ecija gun attack

GAPAN CITY — A 63-year-old employee of the Nueva Ecija Electric Cooperative (NEECO) was wounded after being peppered with bullets by two unidentified motorcycle-riding suspects in front of his house Sunday night here.

City police head Lt. Col. Edilmar Alviar identified the wounded victim as Josefino Carillo, of Sta. Ines Drive, Bgy. San Nicolas, this city.

Carillo was shot several times in different parts of the body by two men riding a motorcycle while he was standing in front of the house at 7:10 p.m.

The suspects fled towards San Isidro while the victim was rushed to the nearest hospital.

Alviar said they are still clueless about the motive behind the failed ambush attempt.
