New DOJ usec to supervise BI

NEWLY-APPOINTED Justice Undersecretary Jon Paulo Salvahan has been tasked to be in charge of the Bureau of Immigration (BI).

Usec. Salvahan took his oath before me last Wednesday (January 20) and assumed office the following day. He will take over many of the responsibilities of former Undersecretary Mark Perete, including supervision over the Bureau of Immigration,” Justice Secretary Menardo Guevarra said.

Perete hastily resigned last October 1, 2020 due to ‘serious reasons.’

Salvahan graduated from the Ateneo Law School last 2010. He finished his pre-law (Bachelor of Arts in Political Science) at the University of the Philippines-Manila last 2006.

Salvahan was part of the Medialdea, Bello and Suarez law firm which was founded by Guevarra and Executive Secretary Salvador Medialdea.

He practiced general law with emphasis on litigation, and labor and election laws.
