THE new headquarters of the Eastern Police District (EPD) is expected to rise in San Juan City next year after the groundbreaking ceremony on Wednesday to mark the construction of the multi –purpose six-storey building.
The construction of the new building in Bgy San Jose near the City hall will house the new EPD headquarters, San Juan Police and Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP-San Juan).
The project was made possible through the generosity of San Juan City Congressman Ronaldo Zamora with an appropriation of P507 million.
The six-storey building with two level basements is set to replace the existing San Juan PNP/BFP Station.
It has a mezzanine floor level, roof deck, and two basement parking levels. Aside from the offices, it has a health office, emergency services medical office, training rooms, barracks, and a laundry area for the uniformed personnel.
With a total floor area of 14,489.51 m², the new headquarters will have amenities which will include a fitness center, a lobby, conference rooms, a wooden covered basketball court, and a firing range.
BFP-NCR Regional Dir. CSupt. Gilbert Dolot expressed gratitude to the city’s efforts in providing a new office for the BFP personnel.
Meanwhile, PMGen. Angelito Casimiro, representing Philippine National Police Chief , Police Gen. Debold Sinas, also lauded the project and vowed to enhance the performance of PNP.
The multi-purpose building is set to be completely built in 18 months.
EPD personnel are temporarily holding office at their three-story district headquarters in Bgy.Malinao, just beside the Pasig City Hall.
It has an annex building along Meralco Avenue in Bgy. Ugong. The facility is owned by the local government of Pasig.Publication Source : People's Tonight
