He said the City Health Department has reported four death cases due to dengue fever from the month of January up to September 21.
The declaration was approved by the City Council based on the resolution and recommendation by the City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (CDRRMC) chaired by Mayor Edwin Olivarez.
“Very alarming na ito at kinakailangan mag- state of calamity na ang lungsod kasi out of 16 barangays ay isa lang ang hindi naapektuhan ng dengue” Soriano said in an interview.
He added that the City Health Department is strictly monitoring dengue cases in the affected barangays upon the order of Mayor Olivarez.
