AUTHORITIES rescued 19 women from two prostitution dens and arrested nine individuals, including two Chinese nationals, in two separate police operations Thursday evening in Makati City.
Makati police chief P/Col. Rogelio Simon said Junyen Barrios, 42, of 521 San Agustin, Dasmarinas, Cavite, Winston Gela, 47, of 4109 Unit 11 Quirinal St. Bgy. Palanan, Xiaolai Jin and Xinze Dong and four others were arrested in a raid they conducted at around 11:30 p.m. in an unnamed bar at 3879 Emilia St. corner Araro St., Bgy. Palanan.
The raid stemmed from a tip of a police informant that the bar was being utilized as prostitution den which resulted in the rescue of seven Filipina women.
Earlier at around 10:50 a.m., joint elements of Makati Police Station Investigation and Detective Management Branch (SIDMB) and Women and Children’s Protection Desk (WCPD) raided the Casino Royal Bar at the corner of Bautista and Casino Streets, Bgy. Palanan which is allegedly being used as front for prostitution.
Serges Borlas, 50, alleged maintainer of the bar received the P3,000 marked money as bar fine from an undercover cop who posed as customer that resulted in his arrest.
SIDMB head P/Maj. Gideon Ines, Jr. who led the raid said 12 Filipina women were rescued and all of them allegedly admitted that they were being trafficked at the Casino Royal Bar to foreigners, mostly to Chinese men.
