TWO alleged members of the notorious “Akyat-Bahay” gang who were caught in closed-circuit television (CCTV) fleeing the apartment of a woman marketing officer were arrested Thursday evening in Valenzuela city.

Valenzuela police chief P/Col. Carlito Gaces said Jeron Dionisio, 31, of 07 Road 5 San Miguel Heights and Jester Nepison, 21 of Batimana Compound in Bgy. Marulas were collared by barangay watchmen at around 9:45 p.m. and were later turned over to the Police Community Precinct (PCP) 3.

Col. Gaces said that earlier at around 4:30 a.m., Raquel Quitola of 56 Aquarius St. Batimana Compound received a call from one Levy Deolago informing her that he found her bag containing her calling cards, umbrella and make-up kit along R. Delfin St. in Bgy. Marulas.

The victim immediately went out of her room and noticed that the doorknob of the main door was forcibly destroyed and her leather shoulder bag containing her two cellular phones worth a total of P23,000, charger, headphones, three USB, cash money amounting to P8,500 and other personal belongings were missing.

She then went to Deolago’s place to claim her bag but only her calling cards, umbrella and make-up kit were left, prompting her to ask permission her neighbor Dario Teves to review the CCTV installed outside his house and saw the suspects fleeing while carrying her bag at around 2:40 a.m.

After obtaining a copy of the CCTV, the victim’s neighbor Resty Dulcero who had seen the footage positively identified the suspects that resulted in their arrest but the stolen items were not recovered.
