2 bigtime drug peddlers arrested in Pasig sting

COMBINED elements of Quezon City Police District (QCPD), Eastern Police District (EPD) and Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) arrested two suspected bigtime drug peddlers and confiscated more than P3.4 million worth of shabu in a buy bust operation yesterday morning in Pasig City.

QCPD Director Police Brigadier General Joselito T. Esquivel Jr. and EPD director Brig. General Christopher Tambungan identified the suspects as Mark Kim Cudia, 28, a member of “Bahala Na Gang” and resident of Bgy. Kaunlaran, Cubao and Patricia Jane Dayta, 19, of San Juan City. The two were arrested in a joint buy-bust by the operatives of Cubao Police Station, EPD and PDEA-NCR at the corner of Kaagapay Street in Karangalan Village  Bgy. Manggahan, Pasig City, at around 5:02 a.m.

Police seized 15 sachets of shabu and the buy-bust money from the suspects.

Esquivel and Tambungan said the operation was an offshoot of a previous buy-bust conducted on Saturday night at Apartment Corridor located at No. 826, Aurora Blvd., Bgy. Kaunlaran, in Cubao which resulted in the arrest of Joy Cabacungan alias ‘Madam’, 37, of Bgy. Kaunlaran, and Reynaldo Apostol, 33, of Bgy. San Martin De Porres. The suspects identified Cudia as their source of illegal drugs.

During the operation, a police poseur buyer bought about P20,500 worth of shabu from Cudia and his cohort. Seized from them were 500 grams of shabu with estimated street value of P3.4 million, a digital weighing scale, a motorcycle and the buy-bust money.

Cudia was previously arrested in 2017 for illegal drugs and was released through Plea Bargaining last November 2018.

The suspects were charged with violation of RA 9165 or The Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
