2 Chinese casino loan sharks nabbed

AUTHORITIES arrested two Chinese nationals for illegally detaining a Taiwanese national after the latter allegedly failed to pay them a huge amount of debt after losing in a casino Monday evening in Parañaque City.

Parañaque police chief Senior Supt. Rogelio “Jojo” Rosales identified the suspects as Guosheng Liu, 37, and Jianhu Xiong, 29, both residing at Room 502 Bayview Tower II, Roxas Boulevard, in Bgy. Tambo.

Earlier, the suspects abducted Chung Lin Yu-Fan, 22, a Taiwanese national billeted at One Pacific Place, Salcedo Village, while at the City of Dreams for his failure to settle his obligation.

The victim was dragged inside Room 3536 of Nobu Hotel in the City of Dreams and allegedly told to contact his family in Taiwan to force them to pay his debt.

A victim’s friend who witnessed the alleged abduction sought the assistance of elements of Parañaque Police Community Precinct (PCP) 2 who immediately conducted a rescue operation that resulted in the arrest of the suspects at around 6:58 p.m.
