2 gun-for-hire men killed in shootout

TWO suspected members of a gun-for-hire group were killed in a shootout with policemen yesterday before dawn in Caloocan City.

Caloocan Police Community Precinct (PCP) 3 commander Maj. Raymond Nicolas said the slain suspects identified only as “Macky” and “JR Tigok” died on the spot from bullet wounds in the body.

Prior to the incident, the suspects killed a vegetable trader last Sunday on Phase 4 Power Line, in Bgy. 176, Bagong Silang, for still unknown reason.

Victim Miriam Pimentel, 46, of Phase 4, Package 9, Blk. 9, Lot 6, Bgy. 176, was fixing her merchandise when the suspects on board a single motorcycle arrived at around 9:45 p.m.

The back rider alighted and shot the victim in the head killing her on the spot.  

Elements of PCP-3 led by Maj. Nicolas conducted a follow-up operation and located the whereabouts of the suspect on Munting Nayon in Bgy. 176.

The suspects upon seeing the approaching lawmen tried to escape towards Munting Nayon covered court prompting the policemen to chase them.

During the chase, the suspects opened fire at the pursuing cops but missed  prompting the lawmen to retaliate and killed them.
