TWO were injured while about 150 families were displaced when a fire destroyed a residential area causing the suspension of classes at the Adamson University yesterday afternoon in Ermita, Manila.
Firefighter Ruel Nado sustained bruises when he reportedly fell from the roof while an unidentified woman was also injured after she lost consciousness due to suffocation.
The Manila Fire Department said the fire struck at around 12 noon at one of the houses on Sylvia Street and immediately spread to adjacent apartments made of light materials.
The fire is yet to be controlled as of this writing.
The Adamson University on San Marcelino Street suspended school at around 1 p.m. to ensure the safety of its students, faculty members and workers.
