TWO elderly brothers, aged 61 and 54, were found dead with gunshot wounds in the head inside their house in Quezon City on Tuesday.
The bodies of Augusto Virrey, 61 and his brother Raul, 54 were discovered lying lifeless beside each other at the bed inside Augusto’s room in Bgy. Paligsahan.
A report from the Criminal Investigation and Detection Unit of the Quezon City Police District showed Augusto suffered a stroke and became bedridden in March. He was being cared for of by Raul.
Investigation showed the victim’s cousin and caretaker, Elisa Cailao, heard a loud thud seemingly coming from the taxi garage near their house.
When Cailao went out after her bath, she noticed that Raul and his pet dog were not around, prompting her to go upstairs to look for them.
Cailao went to Raul’s room but failed to find them. She proceeded ro Augusto’s room and saw the lifeless bodies of the two brothers.
Officer on case PSSg Anthony Tejerero, of the QCPD-CiDU, said they recovered a caliber .38 revolver near Raul’s right hand.
Cursory examination conducted on the victim’s cadaver showed that Augusto sustained a gunshot wound on his head while Raul had a gunshot wound on his forehead.
