TWO suspected motorcycle thieves were killed in an encounter with authorities in Quezon City early Tuesday morning.
Quezon City Police District (QCPD) director, Police Brigadier General Danilo P. Macerin said the unidentified suspects are between 30 and 35 years old, fair complexion and about 5’4 to 5’5 in height.
A report from the Criminal Investigation and Detection Unit of the QCPD showed that a certain William Caseño reported to Masambong Police Station (PS 2) that his Mio motorcycle (NF89239) was forcibly taken along Araneta Ave. near corner Del Monte Ave, at around 12:40 a.m. on January 12, 2021.
At about 1:15 a.m. of the same date, operatives of the anti-carnapping unit of the QCPD were conducting a follow-up operation along Araneta Ave. corner Del Monte Ave., when they chanced upon the two suspects with the same description given by the victim on board his stolen motorcycle.
The suspects reportedly sped off upon seeing the approaching policemen prompting the law officers to give chase.
The suspects were cornered along Biak na Bato St., near corner Don Manuel Agregado St. and reportedly fired shots at the cops.
An exchange of fire ensued, leaving the suspects dead.
Scene of the Crime Operatives (SOCO) investigators recovered several handguns, ammunitions a sachet of shabu and the stolen motorcycle from the crime scene.
The victim positively identified the two suspects as among the suspects who forcibly took his sling bag and motorcycle.Publication Source : People's Tonight
