POLICE seized two M203 40mm grenade launchers, an MK 2 fragmentation grenade and 10 heat-sealed plastic sachets containing undetermined quantity of shabu from two drug pushers who were arrested in a buy-bust operation Monday night in Valenzuela City.
Valenzuela police chief Senior Supt. David Nicolas Poklay identified the suspects as Denver Cabrito Santos, 26, and Michael Angelo Tabulo, 34, both of Sitio Cabatuan, Gen. T. De Leon.
Senior Supt. Poklay said Tabulo admitted that he stole the fragmentation grenade and the grenade launcher in a naval base where he worked as plumber and asked Santos to help him to look for a buyer of the explosive he wanted to sell for P2,000.
When they failed to sell the explosives, they resorted into selling drugs that resulted in their arrest during a buy-bust operation at 9:51 p.m. on Rosario St., Gen. T. De Leon.
Police later discovered that the suspects were involved in robbery-holdup in Caloocan City while Santos had separate pending cases for frustrated homicide.
