THE manager of a food stall and two of his employees were wounded when a leaking liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) tank exploded Sunday evening in Pasay City.
Jerry Orpila, 33, manager of House of Wagyu, employees Jay Venus Delos Santos, 50 and Analiza Sevilla, 37, sustained 2nd degree burns in their bodies and were rushed to San Juan De Dios Hospital for treatment.
Pasay City Bureau of Fire Protection investigator FO1 Keenan Dublado said the victims were conducting food tasting at around 8:50 p.m. at the kitchen of their food stall in Food Treat Tayo Food Park, located at the corner of Roxas Boulevard and Antipolo St. in Bgy. 11 when the LPG tank exploded.
Investigation showed that prior to the explosion, Orpila smelled gas odor but before he could check the tank, it suddenly exploded.
Two adjacent stalls in the food park were partially damaged by the explosion prompting authorities to temporarily close the food park while investigation are still ongoing.
