AGENTS of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency late afternoon Monday arrested three ‘high-value targets’ in a buy-bust operation in Las Piñas City which resulted in the confiscation of 800 grams of shabu worth P5.440 million, PDEA chair, Director General Wilkins M. Villanueva announced yesterday.
Daisy Ysman, Yasmin Balading and Joselito Castillo were arrested during the sting conducted at the west side parking of SM South Mall in Barangay Almanza 1 in Las Piñas City at around 4:25 p.m.
Villanueva said that apart from shabu, also recovered from the suspects were the boodle money topped by marked bills, a mobile phone they used in making contact with the poseur and a Toyota Vios which they used in transporting the drugs.
Another operation in Pasig City early evening Sunday led to the arrest of a 17-year-old teenager after he sold 300 grams of shabu worth P2.040 million to an agent near the Chooks to Go branch on Urbano Street in Velasco Avenue in Bgy. Pinagbuhatan.
Villanueva said the teenager is believed to be acting as a ‘courier’ for a big-time drug syndicate operating in the eastern part of Metro Manila.
All four suspects are now being held at the PDEA headquarters in Quezon City facing non-bailable charges for sale and possession of dangerous drugs under Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
