Quezon City Police District (QCPD) director, Police Chief Superintendent Joselito T. Esquivel Jr., reported to National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) director, Director Guillermo Lorenzo T. Eleazar, the death of three armed men who fired at QCPD operatives in separate anti-illegal drug operations.
Esquivel said, in the first operation the slain suspects were identified only as alias “Payat” and alias “Barok”.
The report showed that at about 12:15 a.m. yesterday, along Payatas Road, Group 9, Area B, Brgy. Payatas, operatives of Batasan Police Station (PS 6) set a buy-bust operation against the suspects.
A poseur buyer bought shabu from the suspects. However, they sensed they were dealing with undercover police so they immediately pulled out their gun, fired at the operatives and ran towards an alley but they were cornered. Police told them to surrender peacefully but they opted to engage the cops which resulted in the suspects death.
Recovered were 14 sachets of shabu, two homemade caliber .38 revolvers loaded with fired cartridge cases, and the buy-bust money.
In another operation, the suspect identified as Ronald Monterosa, alyas Ron, 32, of San Roque, Bgy. Bagong Pag-asa was also slain in a shootout while his six cohorts were arrested and identified as Richard Carpio, 37, Fanny Guimpatan, 35, Icy Mae Barba, 18, Raynaldo Anacta, 52, all from Bgy. San Roque, Ricky Corpus, 36, of Bgy. Baesa and Melchor Carpio, 37, of Brgy. Bahay Toro, by operatives of Masambong Police Station under PSupt. Rodrigo Soriano.
