3 men yield P.6M shabu in Caloocan

MORE than P.6 million worth of shabu was seized by police from three Caloocan city based drug peddlers in a buy-bust operation Sunday before dawn in Valenzuela city.

Valenzuela police chief P/Col. Fernando Ortega identified the arrested suspects as Paolo Delos Santos, 31, of 203 Donato St. Sta Queteria, Rex Gardose, 30, of 734 Libis Baesa and Michael Ledesma, 29, of 27 L. Tullahan Road, Sta Quiteria, all from Caloocan city.

Ortega said the suspects were on board a white sedan car with license plate number RJB-876 when they arrived at Gen. T. De Leon Road, in Brgy. Gen. T. De Leon around 4 a.m. to meet with a police poseur-buyer who earlier was able to buy from them a medium-sized plastic sachet containing shabu worth P3,000.

When the suspects handed their stuff to an undercover cop in exchange for P3,000 marked money, operatives of the Station Drug Enforcement Unit (SDEU) led by P/Lt. Ronald Sanchez immediately blocked their vehicle and placed them under arrest.

Seized from the suspects were more or less 100 grams of shabu placed in three knot-tied transparent plastics and two heat-sealed plastic sachets with standard drug price worth P680,000, a caliber .9mm pistol with magazine loaded with nine live ammunition, three cellular phones, P3,000 marked money and the white sedan car used in the delivery of illegal drugs.

The suspects were presented for inquest proceedings before the Valenzuela City Prosecutor’s Office on charges for violation of selling, conspiracy and possession of illegal drugs and violation of R.A. 10591 or the Comprehensive Law on Firearms and Ammunition Act.
