3 students nabbed over liquor ban

THREE students and a food attendant were arrested for violation of the liquor ban being enforced by the Commission on Elections (Comelec) in connection with the elections held yesterday.

Facing charges for violation of the Omnibus Election Code were Johnson Gonzales, 40, food attendant, and students Mark Laurence and Ryan Espiritu, both 18, and Ryan’s 17-year-old brother. The suspects were all residents of Malate, Manila.

The Manila Police District-Station 9 said the suspects were arrested on Zapanta Street in Malate at around 3:57 p.m.

Members of the Arellano Police Community Precinct (PCP) were patrolling the area when they spotted the suspects drinking on the street. They were brought to the police precinct and subsequently charged.
